Organization Name: Women In Business Development Incorporated (WIBDI)

Overview: Women in Business Foundation was established to empower Samoan women to be economically self-reliant in 1991. The organization changed its name to Women in Business Development Incorporated (WIBDI) in 1994. WIBDI has received grants from the Samoan government and global organizations such as UNDP and Oxfam.

Activities:
・ WIBDI supports women, young adults and physically challenged people by promoting organic farms, fair trades and sustainable businesses for the development of village economies in Samoa.
・ WIBDI has a production and quality control at Nu’u Plant.
・ WIBDI manufactures and sells own Brand products (soap etc.) using agricultural products purchased from farmers in Samoa.
・ WIBDI has obtained certification from the Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA). In addition, WIBDI is promoting the implementation of hygiene management with the aim of acquiring HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification.

Grants from the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation:
1) Purchasing rainwater storage tanks in order to reduce costs of water use.
2) Purchasing vehicles to visit farmers and collect agricultural products.
3) Renovating production, testing facility and purchasing office equipments at Nu’u Plant.
